Church of the Savior on blood
It was projected at the beginning of the last century in the place where the attack that cost the life of Emperor Alexander II was carried out. This tsar was called a "tsar-martyr" for having had six attempts on his life. The attack that took place here was the last one. Alexander III, son of the deceased emperor, wanted to see a temple with the altar built on the place where his father's blood was spilled.
It is one of the jewels of Russian architecture of the end of the 19th century - beginning of the 20th century. It has a unique collection, unmatched in the world. Inside this church there is not a single pictorial work, the walls are covered almost entirely with representations of mosaics.
